It is fully possible to capture the Northern Lights with today’s mobile phones, but the tour is also ideal if you want to use advanced camera equipment. Our guides are happy to share photography tips – whether you are a beginner or want to adjust manual settings for the best results.

How long does the Northern Lights tour by car last?
The tour lasts about 3–4 hours. We drive to where the conditions are best that evening, away from light pollution for the best chance to see the Northern Lights.
How many participants can join?
The minibus has 8 seats. The tour is perfect for small groups, but also for individual travelers – even if you are traveling alone.
What should I wear?
Dress warmly in layers: wool base layer, warm jacket, hat, and gloves. We serve hot drinks during the tour, and there will be short photo stops outside in the cold.
Are there toilets on the tour?
There are no toilets in the minibus, but we plan toilet stops along the way (at gas stations or ferry docks) when possible.
Is the tour suitable for children?
The tour is suitable for most ages. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult, but we do not recommend it for children under 12. Remember warm clothing.
What if we don’t see the Northern Lights?
The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and cannot be guaranteed. We use local weather data and experience to find the best spots, but sightings cannot be promised every time.

Meeting point and departure from Sjømannsgata 5, 8300 Svolvær. No pickup at other locations. Please arrive at least 10–15 minutes before departure.

Are food and drinks included?
We serve hot drinks (such as coffee, tea, or cocoa). Snacks and food are not included, but you are welcome to bring your own.
Can I take photos?
Yes! You can use both camera and mobile phone. Modern smartphones have excellent night modes, and the guide will give simple photo tips during the tour.
What happens in bad weather?
If weather and road conditions make the tour unsafe or chances very low, the tour may be rescheduled or canceled. You will be offered a new date or a full refund.
